Why Quantum Technologies Need Action Now in Libya
A call on for everyone, no matter your background is!
Quantum Technologies promises to change the tech world around us from ultimately securing the communication channels in telecom infrastructures to solving the most complex optimization & computing problems in diverse industries. However, Libya currently needs strong governmental action to help the private and public sectors adapt to looming changes, considering the new regulations required and the huge influence Quantum Technologies will present in the near future.
Quantum Computers are absolutely different from the computers around us today in too many aspects. Thus, there must be different approaches to establishing the required education and the needed environment for the ICT ecosystem to envision and point out the first possible quantum use cases to solve problems that impact our societies in many ways.
It’s the right time for Libya to join the quantum race for the sake of not being left behind. OneQuantum Libya mission is to put the country on the tech communities map.
Now is the right time for Libya to join the quantum race if it is not to be left behind. OneQuantum Libya's mission is to give our beautiful country a chance to contribute, connect and learn from the global community.
OneQuantum Libya is an open platform for all of those who are interested in quantum. Whether you are an academic, investor, professional in industries, or just an enthusiast, quantum is coming, and we need to prepare!
ICT & Fintech Enterprises need to start developing new visions & plans before it’s too late to catch up with the rest of the world. Help us put Libya on the map and raise awareness within the tech community by subscribing to our Newsletter and sharing news about our meetings, webinars, and events with your communities.
Feel free to join our Libyan Quantum Community on Facebook here:
Here is why you should join us on this mission now:
OneQuantum is a place that provides an open opportunity to learn why quantum technologies will become a key tool in many industries, just like yours. A lot of work, research, and collaboration is happening in Africa in this field, and application-ready results have been recorded.
It’s always a good move to take advantage of timing and in this case, the timing couldn’t be better as this game-changing technology is now moving from the lab to the mainstream.
If you are new to this field then this is a great opportunity to make important connections that can help you get started. Whilst our events are focused on Africa, we have people from around the globe joining us with whom you can collaborate, learn and exchange.
We need everyone on board, no matter your background, your gender, or your age. Feel free to reach out to me with your goals & visions on LinkedIn; Abdulmalek Baitulmal or email me at a.baitulmal@quanta.ly.

Computers and Informatics systems (AI, DS, DSP, Control Eng., etc).
Communication Systems (5G & 6G, OFDM, NOMA, MIMO Sys., etc ).
Information Security (Encryption, BlockChain, Quantum Cryptography).
Networks (Cloud, IoT, SDN, etc).
Applications in developing the national economy (Smart data pricing, Decision making, etc).
Conference Objectives:
Provide a forum for researchers, engineers, industry and economists interested in communication and information technology to exchange scientific and research ideas and to pursue new developments in an open forum.
Encouraging communication and information technology researchers to carry out scientific research that serves society and contributes to the development of the national economy.
Assist researchers in communications and information technology to disseminate their scientific research.
The Scientific Committee of the Conference invites you to join and participate in the Libyan International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies (ILCICT 2021), which will be held in Tripoli - Libya - during the period from 28 to 30 November 2021. Sponsored by the Libyan Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology and its subsidiaries, under the supervision and organization of the College of Engineering - Tripoli University.
Congratulations André!
André M. König the Chairman at OneQuantum has been honored by Arvind Krishna, CEO at IBM, for the outstanding contributions that André brings as well as the commitment to the IBM technology community!.
Quantum Across Africa
Last week on our OneQuantum Africa weekly meetings, we have hosted Andrew Forbes. He was recently appointed as the Director of the Wits Quantum Initiative (WitsQ), a forum for quantum scientists across the continent to connect. Andrew has enlightened the African vision with his professional tips of how to get the collaborations and the research going across the continent.
Next week we are glad to host whurley aka William Hurley. Join us here.
Whurley currently serves as co-founder and General Partner at Ecliptic Capital, and founder and CEO of Strangeworks, a quantum computing startup in Austin, Texas.
Strangeworks recently collaborated with IBM Quantum to deliver Qiskit Runtime technology.
Whurley will share his vision for the quantum computing ecosystem and why it is important to provide streamlined, practical access to quantum computing resources to a broad ecosystem of users.
Check out The African Physics Newsletter.
Out now, with a lot of important updates on quantum in Africa.
